Evidence of Love is a song by First Call, a Contemporary Christian group that was very popular from the 1970s to the 1990s.  They had a very clean, almost aCapella style sound in their work and was very popular with all faith denominations.  I first heard Evidence of Love when a friend asked me to sing at her wedding.  I could see how the song would be perfect for that or any occasion including retreat work, youth & young adult meetings, funerals and even a mediation song at a Catholic Mass.  

As I listened to the tape I was given to learn the song I found it was a big upbeat for a solemn event or gathering to I did a cover that was slightly slower, more acoustic and reflective.  Over the course of 15 years I probably sang Evidence of Love a hundred times and each time felt as the first. Besides my own music (cough, cough) it’s one of my favorite Christian songs.

When I was preparing to recording the Center Field CD, I decided to make that a part of the collection.  To enhance the vocals, I invited Nick to do a verse and sing harmony on the refrains which he does so well.
