There are many qualities about my Papa that I endeavour to share with him but none more so then the ability to nap; anytime, anywhere.

On a brief visit to Mom and Pop’s we talked ourselves into the late afternoon whereby I looked over and saw Bitzy (bless her little doggy soul) sleeping on his lap while he was also sound asleep. I looked at Papa with appreciation seeing an old man in his favorite chair enjoying one of God’s greatest gifts. I wondered to myself, “When he sleeps does he dream of he and Mama in the early days of their marriage, say, dancing in the moonlight?”

Naps are hereditary in the Firth men’s DNA and I too, was soon fast asleep.

On the way home from the visit; somewhere near Boardman, Oregon I started to hear One More Time playing in my head. By the time I was home and in bed for the night it was complete. What was most delightful about hearing it for the first few times was imagining myself as a one of the leaves on the tree, playing with the wind watching the old man and his bride dancing in the moonlight; one more time.

Epilogue: I am hoping you recognize this song as Country. It’s okay if you don’t. But one way to insure the genre would be appreciated was to get the right voices to sing the two parts. BroBob has a beautiful baritone voice who told the story better than I had hoped. And Kelli, who is always amazing was amazingly country while singing from her apartment in New York. Thank you. I love you both

This song was perfect for Bob’s voice! (And of course, just about every song is perfect for Kelli.). Very nice arrangement David! We’ll done. I can detect dads country western influence. 🙂

Thank you, Jim. I agree, Bob & Kelli were perfect for this song. I’m glad there was a hint of country heard as well.
